Pact Reached Between City, Captain’s Union

The police captain’s union reached a tentative agreement on a new contract with the city that will raise salaries by 4%, Mayor Bloomberg announced yesterday. If passed by members of the Captain’s Endowment Association, the new deal will raise top salaries for captains from about $104,000 to $142,000, Mr. Bloomberg said. With additional payment incentives, captains could earn $165,000 a year, he said.
