Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted a woman at knifepoint in a quiet, residential area of Northern Astoria, Queens, last night.

The victim, who police described as a 27-year-old white woman, was approached at about 11:00 p.m. by a Hispanic man in his 20s, weighing about 150 pounds and wearing a black T-shirt, jeans, and black sneakers, police said.

The man demanded cash and then dragged the victim into an alleyway leading off of 26th Street, where he sexually assaulted her, police said. Police said the suspect then fled toward Ditmars Avenue.

The victim was taken to an area hospital and was in stable condition. Police are searching for the suspect.
