A teenager was stabbed in the chest on a subway train in Brooklyn yesterday after a fight with another youth, police said. The 17-year-old victim was stabbed once on a Manhattan-bound J train at the Norwood Avenue station in East New York, police said. He was listed in stable condition at Brookdale Hospital last night.
Officials said that the altercation may have stemmed from a fight between two groups that broke out around dismissal time at the nearby Franklin K. Lane High School. Police said a teenage suspect fled the scene. Police recovered a knife with a curved blade.
