Water rescue units saved two windsurfers who were blown out to sea on Wednesday in Queens, police said.
The windsurfers, who were not identified by police, had been surfing near Beach 105th Street in the Rockaway Beach section of Queens at around 2:40 p.m. when the current pulled them out too far, and they were unable to get back to shore.
A police helicopter that lowered a rescue bucket scooped one of the surfers up, and the other was brought to a fire department rescue boat by a scuba team.
No one was injured, police said.
