A 62-year-old woman who had her purse snatched this week returned home to find that her assailant had taken her keys and stolen her car, officials said yesterday.
Police officials said that as the woman stood outside the gate of the Good Shepherd School in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn on Monday, a man approached her and punched her in the face. A surveillance video showed her falling to the ground as her attacker grabbed her pocketbook and fled.
Later, officials said, the woman came home and found that her 2000 Toyota Corolla had been stolen.
Police said they had recovered the vehicle and believe that the woman’s attacker had stolen it. Police said they were searching for the suspect.
