Paris Hilton wants three children, and she wants to start soon, she told Barbara Walters last night.
Ms. Walters has named Paris Hilton one of this year’s “10 most fascinating people.” The 23-year-old Hilton Hotels heiress and star of “The Simple Life” shares the limelight with such entertainment-world luminaries as Oprah Winfrey, Mel Gibson, and a fellow reality-television personality, Donald Trump.
The bleached blonde belied her bimbo image when she admitted maternal yearnings: “I want to have kids in the next two years,” she said to Ms. Walters on ABC last night. That gives Ms. Hilton less than a year and a half to find a mate. With any luck, she will fare better than her sister Nicky, whose marriage to Todd Andrew Meister began at the Las Vegas Wedding Chapel on August 15 – and ended with an annulment in November.
Parents Conrad and Kathy Hilton may be hoping that the future father of their grandchildren will be better behaved than one of Paris’s ex-boyfriends, Rick Salomon, who sold a steamy video of the two in bed. Ms. Hilton spoke to Ms. Walters on that subject, too. “I was in a relationship for a couple of years. I was in love with him and people I think do that sometimes. And I never thought that it would get out and that I’d be hurt like that. … It was one of the hardest things that’s ever happened in my life and humiliating, but because of it I became a better person,” she said.
Why is the public so enamored of Paris? “I think because at such a young age, I’ve accomplished so much. I have a book out on the New York Times best sellers list. I’m doing an album. I have movies. And I don’t know I think just people see me all the time so they think it’s like a fantasy life,” she said.
