‘The Most Beautiful Thing In the World?’

I enjoyed Francis Morrone’s article about the Henry Hudson Parkway. I live in Riverdale and drive it every day [“The Most Beautiful Thing in the World?” Arts & Letters, January 17, 2006].

Contrary to Robert Caro’s opinion in his biography of Robert Moses [“The Power Broker”], I am always grateful that Moses rammed the highway up through Inwood Park rather than across Dyckman Street and up Broadway.

It’s quite a sight coming to the city every day, one of the truly beautiful sights in New York City.
