‘Demolition of Former Bank Building Could Be Delayed’
Earlier this year a series of exhibitions led to a renewed appreciation for the enormous contributions of Robert Moses to our city. I believe that your article regarding the former Deutche Bank building should further enhance our admiration [New York, “Demolition of Former Bank Building Could Be Delayed,” December 17th, 2007].
More than six years have passed since the attack of September 11, 2001, and we do not even have the wherewithal to remove a highly visible symbol of the enemy’s destruction.
Would Moses, a great American who built the entire Henry Hudson Parkway and Riverside Park in less than three years, have tolerated this situation? We need his spiritual heirs to roam free again in this city.
