A screening of “i ♥ huckabees” at Foxwoods Resort in Connecticut drew the film’s star, Mark Wahlberg, and its director, David O. Russell (who also directed Mr. Wahlberg in the 1999 drama “Three Kings”). Jamie-Lynn DiScala of “The Sopranos” and “Entertainment Tonight” correspondent Maria Menounos put in appearances. Also on hand was Matt Dillon’s brother Kevin, who plays Johnny Drama in “Entourage,” the new series on HBO produced by Mr. Wahlberg.

At its ninth annual Urban Heroes Awards, the Catalog for Giving of New York City honored MTV VJ La La, MTV news correspondent Sway, and the chairman of Massey Knakal Realty Services, Robert Knakal. The organization, founded by Barbara Kronman and Sally Berg (mother of actor Peter Berg, best known for his role on the television series “E.R.”), creates an annual catalog profiling worthy charities focused on children. The organization’s goal is to simplify charitable giving for busy New Yorkers. Its board members include David Schulman, Eric Mulkowsky, Joana Jebsen, and Armory Sharpe.

Members of the medical and hotel communities gathered last night at the Omni Berkshire to celebrate the success of the Innovative Travel Marketing Hospitality Fund. The fund has provided no-cost hotel rooms to needy patients and their families who travel to Manhattan for critical medical care.
More than 400 families have been beneficiaries of the fund, which was founded three years ago by the president of Innovative Travel Marketing, Jody Merl, and a New York Sun columnist, Michael Stoler.
