DEE BROWN WITHDRAWS FROM DRAFT Dee Brown, who broke his foot at a June 8 NBA pre-draft camp, said yesterday that he will return to Illinois for his senior season. The Illini guard, who averaged 13 points and 4.5 assists last season, had declared for the June 28 draft but did not hire an agent. Brown is expected to be sidelined for another four to six weeks.
TENNIS
AGASSI ACCEPTS WILD CARD INVITE AT RCA CHAMPIONSHIPS Andre Agassi plans to return to the tour next month at the RCA Championships after accepting a wild card invitation from the tournament yesterday. Agassi is skipping Wimbledon for the second straight year because of injury. Hampered by a bad back, the eight time Grand Slam champion lost in the first round at the French Open last month.
The July 18-24 Indianapolis event is the next hard-court tournament on the ATP Tour schedule. The 35-year-old Agassi is currently ranked sixth in the world.
BASEBALL
EL DUQUE RETURNS TO DISABLED LIST The Chicago White Sox placed right-hander Orlando Hernandez on the 15-day disabled list yesterday with inflammation in his shoulder, his second trip to the DL this year. Hernandez missed the 2003 season after having surgery to repair a partially torn rotator cuff. He is 7-2 with a 4.88 ERA in 11 starts in his first season with the White Sox, but was on the disabled list May 17 to June 2 with inflammation in his shoulder.

ANAHEIM NAMES BURKE GENERAL MANAGER The Anaheim Mighty Ducks named Brian Burke as the executive vice president and general manager of the franchise yesterday. Burke was fired as general manager of the Vancouver Canucks in May 2004 after a six-year tenure.
