MANCHESTER UNITED ADVANCES; ARSENAL, REAL KNOCKED OUT Henrik Larsson put Manchester United into the quarterfinals of the Champions League yesterday after a 1–0 victory over Lille.
Bayern Munich ousted ninetime champion Real Madrid with the help of a record goal, while Arsenal was knocked out after a 1-1 draw with PSV Eindhoven, and Kaka scored in extra time to give AC Milan a 1–0 victory over Celtic.
The four teams join Liverpool, Chelsea, AS Roma and Valencia in Friday’s quarter-final draw in Athens, Greece, which is the venue for the May 23 final.

BRONCOS REACH AGREEMENT ON 5-YEAR DEAL WITH TE GRAHAM Former Denver linebacker Tom Graham didn’t need to sway his son, Daniel, to sign with the Broncos.
The big contract and the opportunity to play back in his hometown were incentive enough.
The Broncos reached an agreement with Daniel Graham, the former University of Colorado star, on a five-year, $30-million deal that includes $15 million in guaranteed money.

PENGUINS CO-OWNER MEETS WITH LAS VEGAS MAYOR Penguins owner Ron Burkle traveled to Las Vegas yesterday to meet with the mayor and discuss the possibility of relocating the team there.
Burkle, who lives in Los Angeles, led a delegation in talks with Las Vegas Mayor Goodman, according to the Penguins’ spokesman, Tom McMillan.
Meanwhile, Burkle and co-owner Mario Lemieux all prepared to meet with state, county, and local officials today in Philadelphia to try to resolve differences over plans for a new arena in Pittsburgh.
