At her namesake meatpacking district salon, hairstylist Sally Hershberger charges $800 for one of her celebrated signature cuts, such as her glamorously tousled movie-star waves or her bed-head shags. While Ms. Hershberger’s client list includes Hollywood A-listers — Michelle Pfeiffer, Julia Roberts, and Tom Cruise, among them — now mere mortals can get in on the action, thanks to her new line of signature hair products. Called Supreme Head, it’s available at Walgreens for $9.50–$12.50.

In an interview, Ms. Hershberger, who plans to open an Upper East Side salon in the spring, said that 50% of what makes hair beautiful is product. “With this line, you don’t have to pay $800 for a haircut with me, but you get to have me show you how to achieve certain looks,” she said, referring to the video demonstrations featured on her Web sites and in Walgreens stores. “Most women don’t know how to use product. [They] just gob it on or slap it on top of their heads.”

Supreme Hair features 13 products, including shampoos, conditioners, gels and styling creams — for thin, thick, and wavy hair types. Among the line’s most sought-after items is Ms. Hershberger’s Shagg Spray, which has been selling out at Manhattan Walgreens locations. Designed for all hair types, it’s applied to dry hair to create piece-y, windswept layers. The “primers” designed to be used before other styling products are also top sellers.

And Ms. Hershberger is particularly proud of her line for wavy hair, which she says is “much sexier than tight, little curls.” “It’s really about beach hair, Gisele hair,” she said, referring to supermodel Gisele Bündchen. She said she’s confident about joining a field crowded with products by celebrity stylists. After all, she helped cultivate the blockbuster highlight-activating line Sheer Blonde under the guidance of her mentor and former boss, hairstylist John Frieda. “I’m the machine behind it,” she said of Supreme Head. “You don’t come out with a line unless it’s different.”

Ms. Hershberger has lofty ambitions — much like another strong woman, her favorite client, Senator Clinton, whom she styled for a Vogue cover and spread a decade ago. “She has this contagious laugh,” she said of Mrs. Clinton. It’s from the soul, really guttural. She needs to laugh more; her laugh is so fabulous.”
