BCBGMaxAzria’s spring collection emphasized color, texture, and layers. Strapless dresses were worn with soft short-sleeved sweaters underneath. A pretty peach dress was shown with a sheer black skirt wrapped around the waist. Shimmering silk organza trench coats were paired with several of the dresses. While pleated details at the pockets made several dresses puff at the hips, which may not be so attractive on the body, BCBGMaxAzria maintained the attention to creativity that has become its hallmark. Though the color palette was muted, bold hits of marigold, rose, and lilac livened things up. Details like a rosette-style bow sewn on the front of a strapless dress also added feminine details to a collection that balanced the casual elegance of Lubov Azria, the brand’s creative director.
