Trump To Appear on Ex-Fixer Michael Cohen’s Radio Show After Years of Recrimination

President Trump will appear on his former “fixer” Michael Cohen’s podcast on Thursday despite the two going back and forth at each other for years after Mr. Cohen testified against Mr. Trump before Congress during his first term. Mr. Cohen pleaded guilty to crimes related to the hush money payment to Stormy Daniels and pleaded guilty for lying to Congress about Mr. Trump’s involvement in the development of a Trump Tower building in Russia. Mr. Cohen worked for Mr. Trump for more than a decade, joining the Trump Organization in 2007 as a lawyer for Mr. Trump personally. Mr. Cohen’s office was situated near the future president’s and he did not answer to the company’s legal team, instead answering directly to Mr. Trump himself. Over the years, Mr. Cohen was deeply involved in some of Mr. Trump’s most notable business ventures, and would later go on to serve as a kind of public attack dog for Mr. Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign. He famously got into a number of testy exchanges with reporters in defense of his client. By 2018, however, Mr. Cohen was ready to turn against his longtime employer. He pleaded guilty to charges of tax evasion and violations of campaign finance law. Later that year, he pleaded guilty to charges of lying to Congress after he erroneously told lawmakers that Mr. Trump’s interest in building a Trump Tower Moscow had ceased in January 2016, when, in fact, the negotiations to build such a tower ended in June 2016 — after Mr. Trump had become the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.“Mr. Trump is a con man. He asked me to pay off an adult film star with whom he had an affair, and to lie about it to his wife, which I did,” Mr. Cohen said before the House Oversight Committee in 2019, detailing his work for the president.Since then, the both Messrs. Cohen and Trump have been attacking each other publicly, with Mr. Trump calling his ex-lawyer a rat, and Mr. Cohen calling Mr. Trump a criminal. Mr. Cohen testified against Mr. Trump at the hush money trial in New York City — a trial which would end with the first former president of the United States being found guilty of a felony. Despite that, Mr. Trump is set to appear on Mr. Cohen’s new radio show and podcast, “When You Know … You Know.”“It’s the radio show I’m hosting tomorrow night at 6pm and the rest on my Sunday 5pm est radio show on 77WABC radio,” Mr. Cohen announced on X in response to an MSNOW report that Mr. Trump would be appearing on his show. After the MSNOW report was published, Mr. Cohen told CBS News that he and the president have quietly kept in touch over the years. “This is the first public conversation between the president and myself in eight years,” Mr. Cohen said. “You know, there have been private conversations that have, of course, been reported. But this is the first public conversation.”
