|The state supreme court is set to consider whether or not the gerrymandering effort is legal after a lower court said lawmakers could not move forward.

Virginia Democrats say they have agreed on a new congressional map that would eliminate as many as four Republican seats in the House in response to Republicans’ redistricting push in other states. The statewide ballot initiative to approve the maps may not come to fruition, however, as the state supreme court is considering the issue after a lower court ruled that Democrats had violated procedure in pushing the gerrymander.
