HOW SHE MOVE
PG-13, 98 minutes

Raya Green (Rutina Wesley) is a gifted student who is forced to leave her prestigious private school and return to her old neighborhood when her parents can no longer afford her tuition, following the tragic death of her sister.

Determined to return to her private school, Seaton, Raya endures life at the local high school, suffering the bitterness of her old friend Michelle (Tre Armstrong) and her crew and soon finds herself drawn back into a world she knows well — the world of step dancing.

When Raya realizes she could win some serious prize money (and her ticket back to Seaton) at a fierce step competition, she convinces the charismatic Bishop to let her join his crew, the Jane Street Junta. As she gets caught up in her desire to win and to escape, Raya struggles with the loss of her sister, her parents’ constant pressure to succeed, and most of all, herself.

TRAILER PARK BOYS:The Movie
R, 95 minutes

From the popular Canadian mockumentary television series focusing on the misadventures of a group of trailer park residents, “Trailer Park Boys: The Movie” lets the boys loose on the big screen with a half-witted heist story.

Booted from prison just days before the eagerly anticipated guards vs. inmates ball hockey championship, Ricky (Rob Wells), Julian (John Paul Tremblay), and Bubbles (Mike Smith) come up with a plan for the biggest heist of their criminal careers as Sunnyvale Trailer Park’s most incompetent criminals.

Called “The Big Dirty,” the trio’s ambitious plan to steal large quantities of untraceable change soon hits a hitch when sidetracked Ricky prepares to make the ultimate commitment to longtime girlfriend Lucy and Julian crosses Lucy’s new boss with disastrous results.

Somewhere between the helicopter chase, the shoot-out, and the booze-soaked game of Sunnyvale Chicken, everything seems to just fall apart.

MEET THE SPARTANS
PG-13, 85 minutes

The creators of “Scary Movie” and “Date Movie,” which unapologetically and unimaginatively parodied popular movies of the day, are back with this tongue-in-cheek send-up of the sword-and-sandal epics, specifically the 2007 hit “300.” Other pop culture targets, such as Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Ellen DeGeneres, are put through the ringer as well.
