AIG Chief Says Damage Was Done by Successor

The former American International Group Inc. chief executive sued by New York’s attorney general for allegedly misleading investors, Maurice Greenberg, said in court papers that any damage to the company resulted from his successor’s decision to restate earnings. The legal brief is part of an effort to compel the depositions of three AIG employees for Mr. Greenberg’s defense.
