FACES OF CHINA Liu Zheng’s black-and-white photographs of groups from Chinese society he considers “archetypal Chinese figures” – including coal miners, opera performers, and transsexuals – are on display in “The Chinese.” Mr. Liu worked as a photographer for the Chinese newspaper Gongren Ribao during the 1990s. LONG ISLAND LOLITAS A selection of Joseph Szabo’s photographs taken while he was a high school teacher on Long Island are on display at Gitterman Gallery through this weekend. The black-and-white photos in “Teenage” capture kisses at school dances, cigarettes on the boardwalk, and clusters of teenagers preening on the beach.
