AT ROOST AND AT REST Brooklyn photographer Travis Roozee spent three years with birdman “Big Mike” Alieca and his rooftop pigeon coop in Bushwick. His photographs of Mr. Alieca and his birds document the usually out-of-sight world of urban pigeon keepers. He also captures pigeons in flight, at rest, on their nests, participating in “war games,” and tending to elusive baby pigeons. Through Wednesday, October 26, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Central Park, Arsenal Gallery, Fifth Avenue at 64th Street, third floor, free.
SWEET TOOTH Chocolate lovers will celebrate Peter Anton’s exhibit “How Sweet It Is! The Art of Candy.” The large-scale sculptures – made of wood, wire, plaster, clay, and paint – look good enough to eat. One heart-shaped box of candies, “Sweetheart Sampler,” has a “bite” taken out of one piece of chocolate. Through Saturday, today-Friday, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Hammer Galleries, 33 W. 57th St., between Fifth and Sixth avenues, 212-644-4400, free.
