JUNIOR COUNCIL JAZZ The Junior Council of the American Museum of Natural History presents its last party of the year. Guests enjoy cocktails and jazz on the museum’s Arthur Ross Terrace. The president of the museum, Ellen Futter, serves as hostess. Tonight, 6:45 p.m. doors open, 7:15 p.m. program begins, American Museum of Natural History, Arthur Ross Terrace, Central Park West at 79th Street, 212-496-3457, $75 guests in advance, $90 guests at the door, free for members.
SURFIN’ USA The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy presents a family-friendly outdoor gala, Sunset Surfin’. The musical hosts are Dominic Kanza and the African Rhythm Machine. Awards will go to park supporters Ben Crane and Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez. Tomorrow, 6:30-9 p.m., Empire Fulton Ferry State Park, 10 Main St., entrance at New Dock Street and Water Street, DUMBO, Brooklyn, 718-802-0603 ext. 13, $95 general, $20 children ages 5 to 12.
SUPPORT FOR MUSIC IN THE PARK The Felix Swing Band provides tunes at an afternoon benefit for the Washington Square Music Festival. Guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from several downtown restaurants. The music festival brings free classical and jazz concerts to Washington Square Park (July 13, 19, and 26). Sunday, 4-7 p.m., Greenwich House Music School and Garden, 46 Barrow St., between Bleecker and Bedford streets, 212-255-4460, $75-$150.
