PANCAKE PLAY Children can prepare, decorate, and eat a dish of “turkey pancakes” at a post-Thanksgiving celebration. They’ll also enjoy Thanksgiving stories and games. The event is intended for children ages 7 to 9. Saturday, 10-11:30 a.m., Alley Pond Environmental Center, 228-06 Northern Blvd., Douglaston, Queens, 718-229-4000, $18, registration required.


GERM FANFARE In “The Extremes: A Microbe Musical,” a rock band consisting of a group of plucky microbes croon about their experiences living in extreme cold, heat, and pressure. The performance is part of Microbe Science Month. Friday-Sunday, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m., New York Hall of Science, 47-01 111th St., between Roosevelt Avenue and Long Island Expressway, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, 718-699-0005, free with museum admission, $11 general, $8 seniors and children ages 2-17.
