SMART ART Young children spend an afternoon hour looking at art, dancing, reading, and drawing in the museum’s galleries. The “Whitney Wees” event is intended for children ages 3 to 5, accompanied by an adult. Wednesday, 3-4 p.m., Whitney Museum of American Art, 945 Madison Ave. at 75th Street, 212-671-5300, $8 each family, reservations recommended.
