FAMILY MONSTER MASH The Pixar movie “Monsters, Inc.” (2001) is screened as part of the series Hollywood in the Himalayas. One of the monsters is a Yeti who would rather be called an “Adorable Snowman” or an “Agreeable Snowman.” Friday, 7 p.m., Rubin Museum of Art, 150 W. 17th St., between Sixth and Seventh avenues, 212-620-5000, free admission, $12 food and drink minimum.
TRUNK SHOW The hand and rod-style puppet company Talking Hands Theater performs Rudyard Kipling’s “How the Elephant Got Its Trunk.” Children sing along during the interactive show, which is accompanied by African drumming.
