LOVE IN FRANCE In the French film “Le Mariage de Chiffon” (1942), the plucky heroine must choose between the man she loves and the man her mother wants her to love. It is screened as part of French Institute Alliance Francaise’s series of films about or made during the occupation of France. NORDIC NIGHT Liv Ullmann’s “Kristin Lavransdatter” (1995), the first film screened in a series of six classics of Norwegian cinema, is a stylized interpretation of the first volume of Sigrid Unset’s medieval trilogy (tomorrow, 6:30 p.m.). PIANO MAN Christopher Felver introduces the New York premiere of his documentary “Cecil Taylor: All the Notes,” which focuses on the innovative jazz pianist at work and at home. WAR STORIES The Museum of Modern Art’s mammoth film series 112 Years of Cinema screens Michael Powell’s “The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp” (1943). In one of her early roles, Deborah Kerr plays all three central women in the life of a British army officer. The story follows his life from the Boer War to World War II. A retrospective of Powell’s work is ongoing at Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater.
