VAN DYKE’S VISION Amalie Rothschild’s documentary “Conversations With Willard Van Dyke,” a portrait of the American filmmaker, is screened in Brooklyn. Van Dyke’s “social documentaries” captured Pennsylvania steel mills, Peruvian land struggles, and the construction of the Tishman Building on Fifth Avenue. WOOING ROXANNE Gerard Depardieu stars in Jean-Paul Rappeneau’s “Cyrano de Bergerac” (1990), a period comedy about a swordsman whose poetry is more alluring than his looks. It is screened as part of the French Institute/Alliance Francaise’s tribute to Mr. Depardieu.
