INWOOD WALK The chief naturalist for the Department of Parks and Recreation, Mike Feller, conducts a walking tour through Inwood Hill Park, the last native forest on Manhattan Island. Saturday, 8-10 a.m., meet at the bridge near the Inwood Hill Nature Center, enter park at 218th Street and Indian Road, 212-927-9568, free.
TROMPING THROUGH QUEENS A biweekly series of hikes in Queens kicks off this weekend. The Urban Park Rangers conduct a vigorous walk along Forest Park’s Orange Trail. Hikers should wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water. The event is not recommended for beginners or small children. Sunday, 10 a.m., meet at the Forest Park Visitor Center, Woodhaven Boulevard and Forest Park Drive, Queens, 718-846-2713, free.
