COW TOWN Can a cow help you beat the heat? Those who serve ice cream can. Take Maggie Moo, the character who represents the national ice cream chain bearing her name. Ms. Moo makes a personal appearance at her new store on the Upper East Side, which opens today.The store offers 30 mix-ins and 40 flavors of ice cream. Ms. Moo said that proceeds from today’s sales will be donated to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. Today, 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Maggie Moo’s, 1437 Second Ave., between 75th and 75th streets, 212-472-6249, free.
