FOLK TALES

MOZART ON GOOD FRIDAY

GRAND NEW OPRY
The Kings County Opry is a Brooklyn concert of country and bluegrass music. This weekend’s installment features Sawed-Off Shack, Ebony Hillbillies, and the Song Circle, a group of musicians assembled from the Whisky Rebellion, Chelsea String Band, other groups. SINFUL SONGS
Ute Lemper performs a staged version of Kurt Weill’s “Seven Deadly Sins” in a concert that’s part of the Brooklyn Philharmonic’s 50th anniversary season. The music director of the Pacific Symphony, Carl St. Clair, conducts the orchestra. The program also includes Ravel’s “Le Tombeau de Couperin” and a selection of French chansons by Ms. Lemper. ‘CAGED BIRD’ SONGS

SWEET KERN
Broadway singers pay tribute to songwriter Jerome Kern at a musical benefit for the New-York Historical Society’s American Musicals Project. The concert features songs written together by Kern and Oscar Hammerstein, including “Old Man River” and “All the Things You Are.” Bert Fink of the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization is the emcee.
