YOUNG PRELUDE The Martina Arroyo Foundation kicks off its new young-artist series, Prelude to Performance, with an evening of opera. The program is conducted by Willie Anthony Waters. Upcoming in the series is a performance of Mozart’s evergreen “The Marriage of Figaro” (Saturday, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2:30 p.m.). KALEIDOSCOPE OF KEYBOARDS The Seventh Annual 2005 International Keyboard Institute and Festival presents a recital by Dmitri Bashkirov (Friday, 8 p.m.). Next week’s highlights: Leslie Howard (Tuesday), Marc-Andre Hamelin (Saturday), and a colloquium on Liszt with Mr. Howard, Jeffrey Swan, and others (Friday, July 29). WOODWIND QUINTET Five musicians playing the horn, bassoon, oboe, flute, and clarinet perform “Winds Around the World.” The three selections include “Clown Music” by Teresa Procacini, “Arabesque No. 1” by Claude Debussy, and “Hambani Kakuhle Kwela,” an African pennywhistle tune.
