FOR LOUISIANA Trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, soprano Audra McDonald, singersongwriter Randy Newman, and violinist Itzhak Perlman headline “Bringing Back the Music,” a benefit concert for the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. The conductors from the Louisiana orchestra and the New York Philharmonic will perform side by side during the show. ETUDE ATTITUDE Pianist Christopher Taylor performs the complete (so far) etudes of composer Gyorg y Ligeti.The evening of “piano fireworks” incorporates influences ranging from African polyphony to Balinese gamelan traditions.
