PIPES AND PIPES The Dave Stryker Organ Trio features Mr. Stryker on guitar, and organist Jared Gold. The group’s latest album, “The Chaser,” features five original songs by Mr. Stryker. HAPPY HOLIDAYS The East Village record label and club Nublu celebrates the holidays with a showcase featuring members of the Brazilian Girls, the Nublu Orchestra, and I Led 3 Lives. Tomorrow, 9:30 p.m., Joe’s Pub, 425 Lafayette St., between 4th Street and Astor Place, 212-967-7555, $12 in advance, $15 at the doors.

CARNEGIE WELCOMES The New York String Orchestra performs three pieces, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8, Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 1, and “Made in America” by contemporary composer Joan Tower, which reinterprets the song “America the Beautiful.” Pianist Leon Fleisher is featured, and the orchestra is conducted by Jaime Laredo. OFF THE BEATEN PATH Avant-garde jazz guitarist Dave Weiner began performing at the age of 22 with Steve Vai’s band, playing over 350 with the band.
