ROLL OVER, ROVER The American Kennel Club celebrates Responsible Dog Ownership Day with an all-day outdoor event. Owners and their pooches can take a 10-step test to determine how well-mannered their dogs are, view obedience demonstrations, and see some rare-breed dogs such as the Norwegian Elkhound and the Tibetan Spaniel. Donations of leashes, collars, and small toys will be collected for areas affected by Hurricane Katrina. Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Madison Square Park, at 23rd Street and Fifth Avenue, 212-696-8200, free.
