WHO’S WHO Director and film historian Peter Bogdanovich discusses the life and work of the actors he worked with, including Marlon Brando, John Wayne, and Marilyn Monroe. He is the author of “Who the Hell’s in It: Portraits and Conversations” (Knopf), a collection of his essays about 20th-century actors. ITALIANS ON STATEN ISLAND The director of Staten Island’s Garibaldi-Meucci Museum, Emily Gear, conducts a guided tour of the museum with a focus on the roles Italian-Americans have played in the development of Staten Island. The tour is followed by a discussion conducted by borough historian Dick Dickenson. The event is part of the Historian’s Roundtable series sponsored by the Staten Island Institute of Arts & Sciences. LE MONDE AT LA MAISON The prominent French editorial cartoonist Jean Plantu presents an illustrated lecture in French and English. He will discuss his political caricatures and wordplay, also expounding on the mission of the cartoonist and columnist. Mr. Plantu has worked for Le Monde since 1972. END OF LIFE The New York City Bar Association presents a discussion about the legal, medical, and ethical issues involved in counseling patients and their families who face end-of-life decisions. The moderator, Jesse Margolin, joins a panel of experts to discuss living wills, the ability of children to make end-of-life decisions, and other related issues.
