DOUBLE DISCUSSION The St. George’s Society Arts Initiative presents two talks, “De-Mystifying the Market: A Preview of the New York Fall Art Auctions” and “The Very Unusual Play, An Oak Tree, an Audience Smash Direct From the Traverse Theatre at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.” Art dealer Ray Waterhouse and expert restorer Michael Heidelberg speak about the auctions. The co-director of “An Oak Tree,” Andrew Smith, and the co-director of the Perry Street Theatre Company, David Elliott, speak about the play that requires a different male lead actor — without ever having read the script — for each performance. DON’T KILL POLAR BEARS Barnard College presents “Pollution and the Polar Bear: Distribution and Effects of Persistent Organic Pollutants in the Arctic,” a talk on how pollutants are affecting the polar bear population.
