RIDING THE WAVE “Governing Change: Policy, Politics, and the Spitzer Administration” is a daylong symposium designed for political insiders to discuss the current state of affordable housing, healthcare, public education, and government reform, all political venues that Governor-elect Spitzer plans to address in the beginning of his administration. Featured speakers include Mr. Spitzer’s new budget director, Paul Francis, and two former governors, Bill Weld of Massachusetts and Jim Florio of New Jersey. LANDSCAPE CENTRAL In conjunction with an exhibit of works by James Suydam, the National Academy Museum presents a lecture by the curator of Harvard University’s Fogg Art Museum, Theodore Stebbins.
