PAINT ON STAGE


“Deco Diva” is the first play in the “Brits Off Broadway” series at 59E59 Theaters. Kara Wilson portrays Polish artist Tamara de Lempicka, a figure in 1930s Paris. During each show, Ms. Wilson paints a portrait that audience members can buy at the end of the evening. GENUINE GIOTTO?


David Edgar’s “Pentecost,” produced at the Barrow Group’s new theater, follows a curator and an art historian debating the authenticity of what appears to be a Giotto painting. GREEK GRIEF


A teenage girl grieving for her mother identifies with Helen of Troy in Mark Schultz’s new play “Everything Will Be Different.” The SoHo Rep production is directed by the developmental company’s artistic director, Daniel Aukin. IMAGINATION VACATION


Edmonton’s Teatro la Quindicina presents Stewart Lemoine ‘s Off-Broadway play “Pith!” currently in previews. Set in 1931, the play seems to follow a sailor, a society widow, and her housekeeper into the South American jungle – but do they ever leave the living room? Opens: Monday, 7 p.m. Runs: Through Saturday, April 23, Monday, 7 p.m., Wednesday-Sunday, 8 p.m., Lion Theatre, 410 W. 42nd St., between Ninth and Tenth avenues, 212-279-4200, $20.
