MANHATTAN MANSION A guided tour of Morris-Jumel Mansion, Manhattan’s oldest house, focuses on a former lady of the house, Eliza Jumel. Born in poverty as Betsey Bowen in 1775, the ambitious Rhode Island native married and divorced Vice President Aaron Burr after her first husband died. She inspired romance novels, radio shows, and a Broadway musical.
