LENNON’S NEW YORK NYC Discovery presents a walking tour that marks the 25th anniversary of the death of John Lennon. The tour compares the New York of the 1960s to the city in the ’70s. Stops include Carnegie Hall, the Ed Sullivan Theatre, Strawberry Fields, and the Dakota. Saturday and Sunday, noon, 212-465-3331 for reservations and meeting place, $13.
BAY RIDGE HISTORY Francis Morrone conducts a walking tour of the southern part of Bay Ridge. The tour focuses on the neighborhood’s history, from Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson’s residence there to John Travolta’s “Saturday Night Fever.” It is sponsored by the Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment. Sunday, 2-4 p.m., meet at Fourth Avenue and 86th Street, street level of the R train stop, Brooklyn, 718-788-8500 ext. 208, $11 general, $9 members, $8 seniors and students.
PINE PLACE The Central Park Conservancy and the Urban Park Rangers present a walk through the Arthur Ross Pinetum, conducted by Arthur Ross himself.The stroll concludes with hot chocolate and caroling with the Santa Brass Band at the park’s Swedish Cottage. Sunday, 2-4 p.m., meet at Central Park West and 85th Street, or Fifth Avenue and 84th Street, 212-310-6657, free.
