After weeks of arts and antiques shows in January and early February, even the most dedicated treasure hunters may be tiring of wending their way through the city’s armories – how many 17th century statuettes can one take in? But a new show opening today, the inaugural New York Design Fair, promises a more relaxed and contemporary approach to design display and retail, mixing periods and styles so that 18th-century French furnishings can be seen in the same location as Lucite chairs from the 1970s. The show will bring together 60 dealers of antique and contemporary furniture and objects. SoHo design store Troy has created a central lounge at the fair showcasing a collection of Poul Kjaerholm furniture from the 1950s and ’60s reissued in white leather. Interior designers Jeffrey Bilhuber and Charlotte Moss will deliver talks on design topics.

New York Design Fair, February 10-13, Seventh Regiment Armory at Park Avenue and 67th St., 212-472-1180, www.newyorkdesignfair.com. Admission is $10.
