The rate is impacted by the city’s tight hotel supply of only 22,700 rooms.Mexico’s host cities implemented the steepest percentage hikes with Guadalajara going from $90 last summer to $511 for the World Cup. In an effort to stimulate international travel and lift lagging attendance, the U.S. State Department is easing travel restrictions. The government has waived a requirement forcing visa applicants from 50 countries to pay at $15,000 deposit to enter the country, provided they hold a valid tournament match ticket.
