|The British sports car brand’s new electric grand tourer has a pleasant cabin and acceptable profile, but the Ferrari Luce shows how much criticism can survive even an interior-first reveal.

Ferrari expected the design of its first EV, the Luce, to be controversial. It was going to get a lot of backlash, and it did — even more than the company anticipated. And so, months before showing the exterior, Ferrari revealed the cabin and controls. Designed by Jony Ive and Marc Newson, the interior was a truly innovative, beautiful upgrade on both the standard electric-car look and the cluttered interiors of Ferrari’s gas cars, and it received a lot of positive feedback.
