Luigi Mangione Musical Sells Out in New York — and Adds Extra Dates

A new musical based on the life of Luigi Mangione, who is accused of gunning down the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, that is being staged in New York City in June, has added extra performance dates for its debut in New York after the first show sold out. The Green Room 42 website is listing tickets for sale for performances on June 17 and June 18 with tickets selling from $29 to “ringside” seats for $79.“Luigi: The Musical” will be staged in New York the same month that Mr. Mangione, 27, will face a state murder trial. He is presently residing in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.The show, which was also staged at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival following its sellout run in San Francisco, has been criticized for rushing to exploit a real-life tragedy while the alleged murderer is awaiting trialsentence.In addition to receiving negative notices from theater critics in San Francisco, politicians have accused the musical, written by Arielle Johnson and Nova Bradford, of being in poor taste. “This is disgusting.
