Thompson Closes on McCain in Ohio

We’ve got some new data today, out of the Quinnipiac Ohio poll. And it’s clear that if Mr. Thompson hasn’t quite caught Mr. McCain yet, things are certainly moving in that direction. Among registered Republicans in Ohio, Mr. Thompson is now comfortably within the margin of error of Mr. McCain. Rudy Giuliani is at 23%, Mr. McCain is at 17%, and Mr. Thompson is at 15% — the margin of error is +/- 5.4%. What’s more, that represents a 7-point jump for Mr. Thompson from last month’s Ohiopoll.
