Artist Jeff Koons is being sued in Manhattan state court by his ex-wife, a porn star and former member of the Italian parliament, for failing to heed an Italian court’s ruling that he pay her $2.3 million in child support.

Mr. Koons is famous for his use of kitsch imagery in painting and sculpture, including a 43-foot puppy in Rockefeller Center.

He and his ex-wife, Elena Anna Staller, were divorced in 1994 in a New York court, which ruled that Mr. Koons receive custody of their 6-year-old son Ludwig. Ms. Staller took her son to Italy, where the highest Italian court awarded custody to her.
