Bloomberg Supports Anti-Flashing Bill

The Bloomberg administration is supporting a City Council bill calling for tougher penalties for flashers and wants to see public lewdness become a felony for repeat offenders.

The city is also advocating that people convicted of public lewdness provide the state with a DNA sample.

The council is considering a bill to increase penalties for public lewdness to as much as one year in prison and a $1,000 fine, from up to three months in prison and a $500 fine.
