Warren Buffett is scheduled to bring his star power to a fundraiser for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee tonight in Manhattan. Mr. Buffett, who served as an economic adviser to Senator Kerry when he was running for president in 2004, is said to be worth $52 billion. His presence at the fund-raiser, to be held at the Regency Hotel, is a sign that Democrats are gearing up for another battle in the Senate in 2008.

The DSCC has already raised $13.7 million in the first reporting period this year, outpacing the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which raised $7 million.
