BALTIMORE — A Baltimore hospital’s new building will bear the name of Mayor Bloomberg’s mother, Charlotte.
The building will house the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. The mayor is a Johns Hopkins University graduate, chaired the school’s board of trustees for six years and is the largest donor in the university’s history.
Mr. Bloomberg says naming the center for his 99-year-old mother allows him to thank both his alma mater and his mom.
The children’s center will move in 2011 to the new 12-story building.
