Mayor Bloomberg says he has yet to decide whether to endorse Senator Obama or Senator McCain for president, but wishes he could vote for both.

“Both have strengths and weaknesses,” Mr. Bloomberg said yesterday at a press conference in Queens. “I think if you wanted to put together a dream ticket maybe you’d put together both of them and they’d flip to see who is on top.”

Mr. Bloomberg, who has hosted speeches by both Messrs. McCain and Obama, said that the two candidates offered significantly different approaches to governing, but declined to offer his opinion as to who would be better for the job. He urged voters to press both candidates to offer detailed explanations as to how they would pay for their policies and how they would work with Congress to enact their legislative proposals.
