MOBIL STATION RUNS OUT OF REGULAR GAS
The Mobil station on the eastbound side of Grand Central Parkway in Queens ran out of regular gas just before 6 p.m. yesterday. “This is the first time we’ve run out completely,” a sales associate for Mobil, Michael Kao, said, though supply has dipped “really low” since the station began charging less than $3 a gallon for regular gas last Friday. The westbound station, however, still had more than 2,000 gallons left, and ample supplies of both special and super. The eastbound side sold much more regular gas than its neighbor did, Mr. Kao said, because it is on the way to the car rental agencies at La Guardia Airport, and “people fill up on regular before they return their cars. … Most of our customers that take regular are rental cars.”

ROBBERY AND SHOOTING ON SUBWAY
A female straphanger was inadvertently shot during the robbery of a man on a northbound subway, police said. On Saturday at 11:20 p.m., a 16-year-old male pulled out a gun as he robbed a male passenger, 37, inside a subway car on the A/C line, police said. The two men struggled and the gun allegedly discharged one bullet, which struck the woman, 29, in the ankle. The victims did not know each other, police said. The suspect fled the subway car at the Shepherd Avenue station in Brooklyn with the male victim’s cell phone. The phone and a rifle were found on the station platform, police said. The woman, who lives in Queens, was treated and released from Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. The male passenger, who also lives in Queens, suffered no injuries.

BABY SURVIVES 20-FOOT FALL
A child slipped through window bars in her Queens Village apartment and fell 20 feet, but only suffered a bruise on her head, law enforcement officials said. Yesterday at 1:44 p.m., the girl – who is 18 months old, according to Fire Department officials – fell from the window of a building on 255th Street, the authorities said. Her parents were allegedly home at the time of the fall. Fire Department officials said the baby was awake and conscious, but because the department considers a descent of more than 10 feet to be traumatic, she was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital for a medical evaluation.

MAN DIES IN KITCHEN FIRE
A 38-year-old father of one died after a fire broke out in his fourth-floor East New York apartment, law enforcement officials said. At 2:38 a.m. yesterday, Police and Fire Department officials responded to the fire. It took firefighters 13 minutes to extinguish the fire, which officials said started in the garbage in the kitchen. Eric Rosado, 38, was in cardiac arrest when he was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, Fire Department officials said, and one firefighter suffered a back injury. The man’s wife and 8-year-old son were reportedly not at home at the time of the blaze. Fire Department officials said they were investigating the cause of the fire, although they said it appeared to be accidental.
