Police are searching for a group of young suspects who sparked a shooting on a subway train early yesterday in the Bronx that left one teenager dead and three others hospitalized, police officials said.

One of the suspects brazenly opened fire and killed Rayquon Story, 18, at about 2:30 a.m. on a northbound no. 5 train. Passengers stuck on the moving shuttle train, which passed four local stops before coming to halt, watched on in horror, police sources said.

The suspects fled the train when it stopped at the next station at Dyer Avenue, police said. Police were notified of the shooting while the suspects were still on the train, but were unable to capture them, police sources said.

Investigators said they believe the suspects followed the victims onto the train at the 108th Street subway station after the two groups had gotten into a dispute at a party earlier in the evening, police sources said.

Before shooting the four victims, the alleged gunmen shouted, “You know what’s up,” a police source said.

The murder victim was shot once in the face, police said. A 20-year-old was shot in the stomach, an 18-year-old was shot in the hand, and a 19-year-old was shot in the arm during the incident, police said.

The surviving victims were rushed to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital and then transferred to Jacoby Hospital, police said. Two of the victims remained in the hospital in stable condition, and the victim who was shot in the hand was released.
